Deep Dish Apple Pie

Vi Shevkenek [nee Neufeld] — March ’09

  • 10 apples
  • 1/3 c. brown sugar
  • 3 tbsp. flour
  • 1 tsp. cinnamon (or to taste)
  • ¼ tsp. cloves
  • ¼ tsp. allspice

Mix ingredients and put into a 9×13” pan. Roll out pastry for top only. Put over apples – push up somewhat inside pan. Pierce top. Sprinkle lightly with sugar. Bake at 410 for 15 minutes, then 375 for approx. 20 minutes more.
