Cantonese Chicken

Vi Shevkenek [nee Neufeld], 1973

  • 3 lbs. chicken
  • 1 tbsp. oil
  • 1 tbsp. soya sauce

Brush on meat the above, then mix and sprinkle top with

  • ¼ c. brown sugar
  • ½ tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. chilli powder
  • 1 tsp. celery seed

Place in broiler 8-10 mins. Mix and pour:

  • 1 can tomato soup
  • ½ c. brown sugar
  • ¼ c. vinegar

Turn oven to 350. Bake 1 – 1 ¼ hours. Serve over rice.
